On top of being a diamanté encrusted, feathery style icon, the most ageless grandmother in Mamma Mia 2 and singer of every pop music banger from the past five decades, Cher is gifting us an entirely new business venture to become obsessed with.
Yup, the queen of camp is releasing a brand spanking new perfume. Titled ‘Eau De Couture’, this is the musical legend’s second foray into fragrance, after she launched ‘Uninhibited’ in 1987.
Speaking to Women’s Wear Daily about the scent’s effect on the wearer, Cher described it as ‘very touchy-feely. It makes you want to hold onto yourself.’
So what does Cher and a whole bunch of feelings smell like? Well, a gender neutral mix of bergamot, neroli, jasmine and vetiver to make a spicy, vanilla oriental fragrance. ‘We’ve come a long, long way since I first put out a perfume so I really do believe this is genderless,’ the ‘If I Could Turn Back Time’ singer told WWD.
‘I [made] it for people who love perfume or people who want to smell good, people who feel that it’s part of who they are. I imagine there are people, I know there are people, who don’t want to have anything on them and I cannot even go to that place.’
An avid Tweeter, Cher revealed the details of the upcoming perfume on Twitter, divulging that she’s been working on the formula for four years and has been wearing it everyday since she’s got it just right.
If it’s anything like her next level bedazzled outfits, we ‘Believe’ it’s going to be epic. At present there isn’t a firm release date for the perfume, but instead Cher has said it will launch ‘when I’m ready’.
