Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth‘s romance is absolutely, totally done. TMZ reports that the former couple’s divorce is now final, with the judge signing off on their settlement. That means that Cyrus and Hemsworth are legally single again after being considered married for roughly a year. Hemsworth filed for divorce in August; the two got married in December 2018. Both have moved on: Cyrus has been dating Cody Simpson for the last couple months, and Hemsworth is dating model Gabriella Brooks. People described Hemsworth’s and Brooks’ relationship as “getting serious” this month.
Cyrus and Hemsworth had kind last words publicly for each other in the aftermath of their August separation. Hemsworth released one statement on his Instagram: “Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward,” he wrote. “This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets.”

Hi all Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward. This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets. Any reported quotes attributed to me are false. Peace and Love.

Cyrus, meanwhile, was more vocal on Twitter, explaining that she’d always love Hemsworth but that they had grown apart.
“Liam and I have been together for a decade,” she wrote. “I’ve said it before & it remains true, I love Liam and always will. BUT at this point I had to make a healthy decision for myself to leave a previous life behind. I am the healthiest and happiest I have been in a long time. You can say I am a twerking, pot smoking , foul mouthed hillbilly but I am not a liar. I am proud to say, I am simply in a different place from where i was when I was a younger.”
