English singer, songwriter and model, Dua Lipa is an international pop sensation in her own right and has been dominating the charts with hits such as “New Rules”, “Swan Song” and “Don’t Start Now.” Though Lipa was born and raised in United Kingdom, her parents migrated from the Republic of Kosovo, located in Southern Europe which explains the origin of her name. “Now I’m proud of [my name],” Lipa said in a 2017 interview with an Italian news outlet, “Now I am. But when I was growing up, all I wanted was to be called Hannah, Sarah, Ella… anything normal. Because with Dua you had to explain: I’m from Kosovo.”
Just as she has embraced her roots, the pop singer’s stunning features has led her to become of the main faces in beauty that many women of today idolise and work towards. She is the face of YSL Beauté’ and is unafraid of switching up her makeup looks be it on the red carpet or on stage.
With her brand new studio album, Future Nostalgia, just around the corner (the release was postponed due to an illegal leak), we spoke to the stunning 24-year-old for the rundown of all her favourite beauty things.

I START THE DAY WITH…
A shower, then cream cleanser, vitamin B serum, hydrating cream and SPF. I never used to be into skincare but now I travel, I have to.
I FINISH THE DAY WITH…
A cleansing oil to remove my makeup, followed by a probiotic serum and face cream.
WHAT’S YOUR MAKEUP ROUTINE?
I try not to wear makeup on days I don’t have to, but if I do, it takes 15 minutes max. I stick to foundation or concealer, mascara, eyeshadow and bronzer and then I’m out the door.
WHEN I LOOK IN THE MIRROR I SEE…
Good brows. They came from my dad’s side of the family, plus my mum never let me pluck them — even when they were growing to my eyelids!
MY MOST INDULGENT BEAUTY HABIT IS…
Getting facials. In London, I go to a place called Pfeffer Sal every few months.
THE LAST BEAUTY ITEMS I BOUGHT MYSELF WERE…
Pai Rosehip Cleansing Oil and RMS Living Luminizer, from Credo, this amazing natural beauty store I found in New York. I bought everything in there.
MY GREATEST BEAUTY DISCOVERY IS…
Brushing your lips when you brush your teeth. It gets rid of dead skin, so your lips are plumper.
THE CRAZIEST THING I’VE DONE IN THE NAME OF BEAUTY IS…
Microneedling. My skin felt sunburnt for two days but, by the third, I had really good ‘baby skin’. It lasted for a few days, but then [it] went back to normal.
DO YOU HAVE A BEAUTY OR WELLNESS SECRET?
I keep sachets of electrolytes – they are great for when you’re travelling.
THE LAST BEAUTY TREATMENT I HAD WAS…
A Cryo facial in Cannes with Teresa Tarmey just before I went on the red carpet. It was a really good way to de-puff my skin.
