Park Shin-Hye & Yoo Ah-In Star In A Brand New Zombie Thriller, #ALIVE, This Summer

While the world may seem apocalyptic right now, what with the pandemic and all. It’s good to remind ourselves that it could have been a lot worse. Like zombie apocalypse level of ‘worse’. At least that’s what comes to mind when we watch the trailer to the upcoming South Korean thriller, #Alive. After the massive success of films like 2016’s Train to Busan and the hype around its sequel, Peninsula, that’s set to premiere in the latter half of 2020, another zombie horror film has entered the ring to fight for that spotlight.

#Alive stars top South Korean actors, Memories of the Alhambra‘s Park Shin-Hye and Chicago Typewriter‘s Yoo Ah-In and centers around a deadly and mysterious virus that is rapidly turning the entire South Korean population into violent, man-eating zombies. Joon-Woo (played by Yoo) and Yoo-Bin (played by Park) appears to be the only two survivors who have yet to be infected by this dangerous virus. What’s worse is that the two are stuck alone inside their apartments without access to cellular data and wifi. That means, no google, no texts and no phone calls. Will these two be able to survive this horrifying situation?

Albeit small, the stellar cast will no doubt deliver when it comes to their performance and their incredible visuals. The 33-year-old actor is well known for his amazing range and has won multiple Blue Dragon Film Awards while the gorgeous Park Shin-Hye has starred in some of the biggest K-dramas in the industry. #Alive‘s director Jung Il-Hyung sung Yoo Ah-In praises for his honest portrayal of a life-and-death scenario. “He is an actor who has the ability to pull off any character, as well as the power to make audiences focus on him,” said the director. β€œHe really developed and enhanced the character of Joon-Woo by adding lots of small details [through his acting].”

It’s also amazing that Park is returning to the big screen since the 2017 crime drama film, Heart Blackened. 2020 is a busy year for the superstar as she is starring in another thriller titled, Call and is confirmed to be part of an upcoming JTBC drama, Sisyphus: The Myth. Can we get a hell yeah?!

Meanwhile, check out the trailer for #Alive, which premieres in June 2020 below:
