Jennie, Lisa, Rosé and Jisoo are back in your area and we cannot be happier! The K-pop quartet debut their long-awaited pre-release single, titled, “How You Like That” with a debut live performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, proving once again that the global k-pop phenomena is not going anywhere. As fans were starving for new music from BLACKPINK, it’s no surprise that their new single will be a success. However, the group has gone above and beyond expectations, smashing the record for the fastest Korean group music video to hit 100 million views and topping music streaming charts all over the world.
“How You Like That” is the first single off of BLACKPINK’s upcoming album that is set to be released in September this year. To drum up hype for the group’s comeback and first full-length album, YG Entertainment has devised a multi-level promotional schedule with more singles and music videos to come in the lead up to September. And from the looks of things, their strategy is certainly working.
The track, itself, is signature BLACKPINK with its infectious beat drop and catchy chorus. Trust us, you’ll be singing that, “Da-dadada-da” bit all day. The official music video had fans buzzing about Jennie, Lisa, Rosé and Jisoo’s outfits, makeup looks and hair transformations.

In particular, the scenes where the four girls wore modern iterations of hanbok, South Korea’s traditional garb gained lots of attention. An iconic part of South Korean culture, women’s hanbok has a unique silhouette that features long sleeves, clean lines and a shorter top that is juxtaposed against a voluminous skirt. These days, the hanbok is worn on special occasions such as weddings, festivals and ceremonies.
BLACKPINK has put their own modern spin to the hanbok with each member displaying their own unique style. The group proudly rocked their hanboks on the Tonight Show stage as they performed “How You Like That”. Check out these gorgeous outfits and their amazing live performance below:
BLACKPINK also made K-pop history as “How You like That” debut the Spotify Global Top 50 chart at the number 5 spot before climbing to the number 2 spot in just one day. This achievement came in as their 2018 ear-worm “DDU-DU DDU-DU” hits the milestone of accumulating over 1.2 billion views on Youtube. BLACKPINK is the first K-pop group to ever achieve this milestone, alongside PSY‘s “Gangnam Style” and “Gentleman”. Safe to say that this girl group is set to dominate the global charts once their album drops.
Till then, we’ll be bopping to “How You Like That”.
