Big Bang And Epik High Will Be Performing At Coachella 2020

The final lineup of Coachella 2020 has been announced and it looks to one of the most spectacular we’ve seen in a while. After the success of BLACKPINK‘s epic Coachella performance last year, two South Korean acts has been added to this year’s line up and they are OGs in the K-pop industry—Big Bang and Epik High.

This came as a huge surprise for fans as not only will it be the K-pop boy group’s first Coachella performance, the group has a tumultuous 2019 that ended with one of the members, Seungri, leaving YG Entertainment (their talent agency) altogether. With controversies surrounding the group, many were unsure what the fate of Big Bang will be. Fortunately, it looks like VIPs (Big Bang’s fandom) has nothing to worry about as 2020 has begun quite epically for the K-pop quartet.

Big Bang will be performing on Friday of the Coachella 2020 weekend, alongside some of the biggest names in the music industry such as Rage Against The Machine, Brockhampton, Megan Thee Stallion and more. This also marks G-Dragon, Taeyang, Daesung and T.O.P’s first performance together since they completed their military conscription. The group were trailblazers in the Hallyu wave in the 2000s with hits such as “Fantastic Baby”, “Day by Day”, “Bang Bang Bang” and so much more. Could this spell an album comeback for the iconic boy group? We have the rest of 2020 to find out.

Big Bang is not the only South Korean artist to be performing at Coachella this year. Highly acclaimed hip-hip trio, Epik High has been revealed to be performing the final day of the Coachella weekend. Rappers Tablo and Mithra as well as DJ Tukutz were the first major South Korean act to perform at the Coachella stage, back in 2016. This will be their third time performing at Coachella, making them veterans at this prestigious global music festival.

Epik High’s last EP, Sleepless in _____, was released just last year and was well-received by fans, peaking at the number 6 spot at Billboard’s World Music chart and number 8 on the local Gaon Music Charts.

As of writing this article, tickets for the first weekend are already sold out with presales for the second weekend going live on Monday, 12pm PST.
