In the lead up to their highly-anticipated comeback, K-pop phenomenon, BTS will be taking part in The Late Late Show with James Corden’s iconic music segment, ‘Carpool Karaoke’. The announcement was made via The Late Late Show‘s official social media channels, showcasing a photo of RM, Jimin, J-Hope, Jungkook, V, Suga and Jin seated in Corden’s car and the premiere date, 25 February. This is massive for not just K-pop but foreign musicians all over the world as BTS will be the first K-pop group to take part in this popular segment. Previous celebrity passengers have been Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars and even ex-First Lady, Michelle Obama.
So, yeah, this is a BIG deal, indeed.
The Bangtan Boys are dropping their fourth studio album on 21 February, Map of The Soul: 7 and are revving up for their promotional tour for their new project. Preorders of the studio album has already surpassed 4 million orders, breaking their previous record of 3.4 million preorders for Map of The Soul: Persona. The K-pop group has also revealed their track list for their new studio album, boasting a total of 20 brand new songs, much to delight of fans.
James Corden has a great relationship with boy group as the seven-member group was recently on The Late Late Show to perform and premiere their title track “Black Swan”. Knowing the format of the ‘Carpool Karaoke’ segment, Corden often sings along with his guests. As this is his first non-English guest, it will be interesting to see how the British host and comedian will fair singing along to the group’s top hits.
