Mirror, mirror on the wall, who has the most stunning heels of them all?
Following the popularity of the iconic Flower heel and revolutionary 1939 Column heel, a new statement heel takes its place in the House of Ferragamo. Salvatore Ferragamo has just launched their new suite of Fall/Winter 2019 shoes designed by Creative Director Paul Andrew – The Refracted heel.
Inspired by the rich diversity of the world we live in today, the Refracted heel was designed to showcase the beauty of irregularity and variousness. It is constructed from a highly durable, yet ultralight plastic and coated with a high-tensile galvanised metallic shell. The heel’s shape is a laser-carved topography of irregular triangular facets. In combination with the metallic finish, it creates unpredictable refractions of light as the shoe interacts with the world around it.
Paul Andrew explains, “Every time you look at a Refracted heel it will appear different. This is not its flaw, but its power.”
The heel comes in three heights — 1, 5.5, and 8 centimetres, ensuring that there will be a comfortable height for everyone. The first drop consists of five styles in a wide range of colourways and fabrications — nappa, suede, patent leather, silk satin with crystal embroideries. These will become the foundation of an increasingly rich and varied selection of footwear featuring this bold new signature heel.
The Salvatore Ferragamo Refracted Heel collection is available at all four stores islandwide now.
