As Heidi Klum would say, “In fashion, one day you’re in. The next day, you’re out.” The same energy flows through reality programmes as they are almost cultural landmarks in time. We were all familiar with the world’s obsession with reality TV shows such as Survivor, America’s Next Top Model and of course, Project Runway in the 2000s. Now, reality television has caught new wind and have upped their game in terms of drama, budget and overall plot with shows like RuPaul’s Drag Race and Queer Eye leading the pack.
As more people show interest in reality programmes, Netflix has been one of the main propellers for these shows, producing and giving them a global platform. At the end of January this year, we’ll be treated to a brand new reality show based around fashion (think, Project Runway 2.0) titled Next In Fashion.

The premise is similar to its predecessor—up-and-coming fashion designers compete for the top prize money of $250,000 and an opportunity to debut their collection with luxury fashion retailer Net-a-Porter. The show is hosted by Queer Eye‘s designated fashion expert, Tan France and global style icon, Alexa Chung and will feature a group of 18 designers with the drive to become the next big name in fashion. The contestants will be challenged and judged by A-list celebrities and established designers like Eva Chen, Monique Lhuillier, Prabal Gurung, Tommy Hilfiger, Phillip Lim and so much more.
