There’s a mouse in the house—and we’re loving it. Channeling the festive spirit of the Lunar New Year, the maison debuts their Year of the Mouse collection, a whimsical lineup of ready-to-wear accessories, luggage, and small leather goods featuring the childhood symbol that captured many children’s hearts all over the world: Disney‘s most iconic cartoon character, Mickey Mouse. Several classic Gucci motifs are given the Disney treatment in this collection.
The fashion house brings one of the word’s most beloved cartoon characters to life in a lively campaign video shot by photographer and director Harmony Korine, starring Gucci ambassador and Chinese actress Ni Ni, actor Earl Cave and actress-turned-stylist Zoë Bleu Sidel wearing thematic pieces from the eclectic collection featuring Mickey and Minnie Mouse cruising about in various escapades, toile de Jouy style. Set in the colourful and joyful world of Disneyland with all inhibitions cast aside, the video follows the three ambassadors and Mickey Mouse amidst the Mad Hatter’s giant spinning tea cups, sharing popcorn and enjoying the day out with a sense of wide-eyed childlike wonder.

Drawing inspiration from both the film giant and house’s heritage, the brand revisits history, rolling out a specially designed version of their emblematic beige-ebony Mini GG Supreme canvas popularised in the ’80s with an embossed print overlay of our favourite mouse giving us some cheeky side-eye. We’ve always been a sucker for Chinese New Year goodies and the collection sees this nostalgic pairing playfully reimagined over various styles of handbags, shoes, luggage and small leather goods, providing us with the perfect accessories we never knew were missing from our Chinese New Year outfits.
