The Best Outfits From Crash Landing On You And Where To Cop The Looks

With additional reporting by Hanan Haddad

One of the biggest K-drama hits this year is without a doubt Crash Landing On You. Outlining the unlikely love story between a pampered South Korean heiress and a North Korean sergeant, the show was a global hit, ranking number one on Netflix for the weeks it ran and even now, months after the final episode aired. The reason for its massive success is partly due to an impeccable cast of top stars, including Son Ye-Jin and Hyun Bin. However, another integral part of the story came (unexpectedly) in the form of fashion.

The stunning Son Ye-Jin plays Se-Ri, who is well-known for her fine taste in fashion and her cut-throat business persona. She heads ‘Seri’s Choice’, a network of fashion and accessories company edited personally by Se-Ri herself. Not forgetting the character Seo Dan, North Korean department store heiress and an aspiring cellist played by Seo Ji-Hye. She showed off some looks that were just *chef’s kiss*, gorgeous.

We’re breaking down our favourite looks and styles from the show and giving you options in case you’d like to cop their style. Check them out below:

The most iconic moment of Crash Landing On You would be hands down — in my opinion, in episode 5 whereby Jung Hyuk and Se-Ri took the train to Pyongyang to take her passport photo. However, the two got stranded in the middle of the field for more than 10 hours due to shortage of electricity. Jung Hyuk’s thoughtful actions got Se-Ri thinking that he will be a good husband in the future. Unfortunately, Jung Hyuk doesn’t dare to think about the future due to what happened to his brother. Who else remember’s this poignant quote from Se-Ri: “Sometimes the wrong train takes you to the right station. I wish you could be happy even after I leave, Jung Hyuk.”

Se Ri wore a classic brown Miu Miu Spring Summer 2020 double-breasted coat and Fendi Karligraphy bag in this particular scene.

In episode 10, Se Ri strides through the office lobby in an Off-White Spring Summer 2018 crisp white blazer and Longchamp Roseau top handle bag after she “rose from the dead” like the badass she is, a shocking moment for all employees from Se-Ri’s Choice. White blazers are a great staple in any woman’s wardrobe and is a chic alternative the usual black blazer. It’s certainly a subtle, yet strong piece to have in your wardrobe arsenal.

In episode 11, Se-Ri brings Jung Hyuk shopping — of course, a “must have” scene for all K-dramas. Naturally Jung Hyuk looks dashing as ever as he has his “Cinderella moment”, Se-Ri had a cute jealousy moment when the store staffs expressed keen interest in him. In the scene, Se-Ri wore a checked blazer and ruffle top from Chanel from Fall Winter 2019 collection. She finished off the feminine look with a Chanel tweed trimming tote bag.

Similar looks also spotted in episode 5 and 15 when Se-Ri wore a ruffle collar top underneath a plaid jacket from Louis Vuitton Fall Winter 2019 collection and a glittery jacket from Celine Fall Winter 2019 collection respectively. Definitely “Se-Ri’s choice” of outfit, a sort of signature style.

It’s revenge time for Se-Ri, in episode 12, as she faced a group of Chinese thugs and offered them money in return of Cho Cheol-Kang, the man who ordered the thugs to attack Jung Hyuk in the same building the night before. Se-Ri armed herself in Bottega Veneta Resort 2020 collection trench with bonded leather, Roger Vivier So Vivier bag and Gentle Monster sunglasses portraying major chic power woman vibes.

While Se-Ri dominates in South Korea’s fashion scene, Seo Dan hands down is the most fashionable woman in North Korea (as depicted in the show). One of our favourite looks is a matching floral print shirt and wrap skirt from Ports 1961 Fall Winter 2019 collection she “purchased” from her mom’s departmental store to finally meet Jung Hyuk for the first time in seven years. And of course, the final touch of the look — hair clips.

Here, Seo Dan arrives in Switzerland to visit her finance Jung Hyuk in Alexander McQueen Pre-fall 2019 collection trench coat, printed shirt and Pinter bag. Classic Rimowa luggage aside, we love a casual trench made extra chic thanks to the white colour she picked. This is airport #OOTD done right.

Choi Ji-Woo made a special appearance in episode 13, which might not be a huge surprise to most Crash Landing On You fans, as one of the characters named, Kim Ju-Mok (played by Yoo Su-Bin) was obsessed with K-dramas and has expressed his love for Choi Ji-Woo throughout the season. He especially loved her role as Han Jung-Suh in the classic drama, Stairway to Heaven. Choi Ji-Woo stuns the viewers in a full sequin dress moment from No21.
