What spells love? Burberry
Love expresses itself in unexpected ways. For us here at the office, it’s a time of appreciation for Burberry’s festive collection which focuses on the notion of universal love, exploring the diversity of relationship dynamics that follow. Featuring chain embellished and feather fringe dresses, tailored outerwear and puffer coats in submarine print and relaxed structuring, the collection offers versatility and is perfect for daytime holiday gatherings to evening Christmas dinners.
To celebrate the collection, Burberry’s Chief Creative Director, Riccardo Tisci, has rounded up an all-star cast featuring notable names such as Premier League club Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek, supermodel Carla Bruni, Italian singer Mahmood and actress Zhou Dongyu, for his first holiday campaign with the fashion house. Set to Deee-Lite’s What is Love, the campaign’s video sees the cast pose and dance freely to their own beat.

One of Loewe’s is not like the otter
Debuting the collection is the campaign’s video, An Otter’s Tale directed by Nina Gantz. Set in a haunting, surrealistic forest landscape with nightmarish oeuvres, humans undergo a transformation to their primal state. The civilised become uncivilised, the inanimate stir awake, and the dead are very much alive. Renowned for his intricate and brilliantly coloured designs with unerring attention to detail, Loewe celebrates the spectacular artwork of esteemed British ceramist William de Morgan as it returns with a seasonal collection featuring dreamlike silhouettes decked in decadent, vibrant colours and contrasting textures.
Jonathan Anderson’s nightmarish Alice-in-Wonderland vision sees otherworldly animals charmingly adorned in de Morgan’s signature floral arabesques, through a series of accessories and bag charms. Models are transformed into anthropomorphic creatures with knitted hats with animal ears, sleeves with feathery remnants and knitted scarves with reptilian knit thorns. From chunky hand knits fitted with claws to otter-shaped handbags, the William de Morgan collection brings a little magic into your world this season.

Talk Moncler to me
For those wanting to flex that innovative muscle, Moncler’s Fall ‘19 Genius collection is just for you. Led by long-time Moncler designer and Palm Angels founder Francesco Ragazzi, the multi-collaborative House of Genius collection was unveiled through a series of pop-up installations in Milan, Paris and Tokyo early last week. Imagined as immersive and interactive art galleries, the stores are designed to prompt dialogues of creativity, learning and cultural exchange through the different aesthetics reflected in a single space.
Aside from streetwear sensibilities, each gallery will also debut new unique drops personally commissioned by Ragazzi under different designers for the next three months, infused with a splash of local culture. Customers can also pick up T-shirts designed by the eleven Moncler Geniuses and offered as single pieces of its kind, or choose from a range of canvas bags, if they wish — from vending machines. If you’re looking for a bougie upgrade on your tech collection, the Geniuses also have something for you. Special items and limited edition merchandise including apparel and tech accessories come with a dedicated city crest, as well as a host of unexpected products personally selected by the designers — quite literally giving customers a festive surprise.
The Moncler House of Genius Fall ‘19 collection will be available at the Milan, Paris and Tokyo pop-up installations from November 2019 until the end of January 2020.
Deck the halls with bows of Gucci
We talk a lot about acceptance during the festive season. This year, that means accepting and unapologetically embracing your individuality and quirks—and Gucci’s Creative Director, Alessandro Michele, thinks so too. Why deck the halls with boughs of holly when you can deck them in Gucci? Classic meets quirk this holiday season as the fashion house commissions a festive cruise liner in the spirit of an unconventional summer holiday during winter break.
Never one to shy away from eclecticism, Michele’s campaign video showcases models dressed in both summery and winter-worthy outfits comprised of different silhouettes, textures and prints inspired by the summery sights, colours and atmosphere of a tropical island getaway. Most notably, the collection introduces the striking pairing of the fashion house’s classic beige-ebony GG Supreme canvas and the historic Flora motif for the first time in a line-up of ready-to-wear pieces, hard luggage pieces, totes, small leather goods and a new jewelry case. Consisting of a vibrant colour palette, ’70s inspired sunglasses and bold scarf turbans, this collection will have you planning a summer holiday right away.
